The Itch Scratch

Psychobabble from a Mental Patient

Do you believe in magic?

I like to complicate my life, it’s the only way I keep my sanity.

Depending on my manic depressive state, I’m the guy that will ask you:

“What’s your passion in life?”

Or

“If you were a burger, what would you do?”

I’m the guy that loves to listen and learn everything from you. I’m a sponge, I absorb.
My problem is that I can’t help myself and mother always told me that I’m going to crash and burn.

Unfortunately, my entire life ends up crashing or burning in one way or another.

“[Be mindful of the future] but not at the expense of the moment.”
Qui-Gon Jinn, Star Wars: Episode 1

My Moments:

  • Joined the school circus at the tender age of 7
  • Self crowned Grade 4 Four-Square champion
  • Wore a skirt and make up for a high school play of Ancient Egypt
  • Formed a Death Metal band at a ripe age of 16
  • Backyard Wrestling Champion of my household

It’s time to grow up. My goal in life isn’t to replicate or survive nor is it to make millions of dollars or save the world from greedy corporate suits. My goal is simple, it’s to let go.

I want to be able to interact with anyone who is having an ordinary time in their life and enthusiastically say “Hey, you have potential, I like you. Let’s hold hands and cuddle, I’m confident that we will figure it out together.”

I began my 2007 chapter backpacking through Thailand with four headstrong mates. I’m not sure what I’m looking for, and at times I don’t remember who I am or where I’m going to sleep for the night. But I do know who my friends are, I’ve connected with amazing people from around the world and of course, there has been a lot of drama on the way.

This is my soul searching mission in hopes to find something or someone special.

Yes, I believe in magic.

If I were a burger, I would become vegetarian.

But more to the point, I don’t think anything is better than believing in magic. And I don’t think any position is better than being lost. It makes the entire soul searching process all the more interesting.

As the cool kids say, kudos to you.

Hey franz.
One thing i realised in all my life experiences.. is that life is just a simple learning game.. and being lost and searching can ultimately lead to amazing discoveries =)

Hey Franz! If you’re wondering why the family hasn’t posted a comment until now don’t despair. We actually posted as soon as we received the link in our e-mails but it didn’t post. Fortunately John has fixed the problem now :)

…………

You’re journey sounds amazing. I hope that you do find that someone or something special. I also hope that the “special” is not a plastic surgeon who will turn you into Frances ;) But if you do choose to “become her” then it’s ok, I’ll love you regardless (as long as I can have you’re Macbook Pro since my lappy is dieing with every word I type…so sad *sniff*).

And yes, Franz you are a sponge! You absorb but sit there doing nothing. To hear that you are letting go is music to my ears. Finally! But please, in your journey to find your soul don’t disregard that ambitious drive of yours. I like that about you :)

Come back soon, the house is awfully peaceful with you gone (never thought I would say that).

Good luck and keep us posted!

Hi Franz and to all your friends out there with you…I was in the same dilemma when I was your age. I wanted to get lost and go some place to find myself. The difference is that I wanted to go to the mountains not to some distant countries ‘coz I don’t have money for travel expenses. There’s also a lot of difference when you grew up and lived in a third world country like ours…our society is an inverted pyramid ( few rich people and millions are poor). As a result, we tend to work towards the attainment of financial stability…to have money for our basic necessities or just simply to buy food for our tables. We can not even plan ahead for the future, we only have today to live for.
But then, if you walk along the streets (slum areas and far flung barios included), you can still see a lot of people wearing smiles in their faces, they still look happy inspite of life’s hardships. It is because happiness is relative. What makes other people happy may not be applicable to you…So good luck and find what you are searching for. But take time to stop sometimes and ponder what is it are you really looking for? There are things in this world that you don’t look for, they will come naturally even when you had already ceased looking for it…with lots of love from anty tesi
